I have always wanted to shoot a Lake District wedding and last week I did just that…

Josh & Olivia’s Lake District Wedding…

I first met these two when the gorgeous Alfie arrived last year, Alfie was just 2 weeks old when I did a lifestyle new born photo shoot in their home in Cheshire, so I was so pleased when they asked me to photograph their wedding in the Lake District in May the following year.

The Lake District has to be one of my most favourite places in the UK, I have holidayed in cottages and caravans around Bowness, Coniston, Ambleside and Windermere, to name a few, many times. With its breathtaking views and amazing raw landscape, in places such as Wast Water and many more, the Lake District has to top of the list when it comes to weddings…

Olivia and Josh wanted a completely relaxed documentary style of wedding photography, which in my mind is the only way to photograph a beautiful wedding day. Their setting was Briery Wood Country House Hotel, just on the edge of Lake Windermere and set in seven acres of beautiful gardens and woodlands, this is most definitely the place to get hitched to your soul mate.

With so much love and emotion in the air, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Olivia made her way up to the top of the hill with her Dad to an idyllic ceremony situated under the pretty pergola, with the warmth of the Windermere sunshine, where Josh was waiting to take her hand, witnessed by the rest of the family and their lovely friends, tears and tissues all round… The soft evening light made for the most perfect wedding portraits, the opportunities were endless, and with a live band to play out their favourite tunes, they all partied and celebrated into the early hours.

I just want to thank you guys for inviting me to capture your amazing day, and I wish you both many many happy years to come.

Big hugs to you both ♡❤️♡
